Upstairs! Last post!

 Hey y'all,

Wanted to share the pictures of our gorgeous upstairs. The main room is 40' long and 13 1/2 feet wide, and with the containers on each side. We left the whole room open with 10' windows on each end. Looking out these windows into the trees makes me feel like I'm living in a treehouse. 


Going backwards: here is the deck we built, 17' above ground. So relaxing.

We painted around the "CMA CGM" logo and kept it for posterity.

    I love what your family did with this build! I'm about to start my journey with a similar build, only I'm doing a hybrid build with 2 parallel containers; crawl space but no basement. I'll also blog to share the process like you guys did. Thank you for sharing your journey!

Hey there! I know it's been forever! I have so much to share! We have gotten so much done, and I'm so ready to burn my paint brushes! Hi everyone! It's been a while, so I have lots to share! Today I'm going to talk about the decking between the containers for the top and ground floors, and a little bit about the holes we cut in the containers. This first picture is one of my favorites, it's a little out of chronological order, but I wanted it to be the first. One of the first things we did after setting the containers was build the decks between them for easier access to the two floors. We also started cutting doorways and windows. The first doorway we cut was between the foyer and the living room, you can see it in the picture above!! That was very exciting! John had stored some materials in the top containers on both sides so to access them we had to climb that crazy extension ladder. Whew, I was glad when they had the decks built and doorways cut. John used a plasma cutter to cut all the holes. We decided to put a big arched window between the dining room and the kitch...
