Window seat tour

Hey y'all! My husband designed a cute little area in between the ground and top floor inside the container stacks. We call it "the window seat". But its so much more than just a seat. It's a small room with a web swing perfect for just chilling in with a book and a blanket.  But it didn't start out super cute! You can see where we cut the floor of the top container, as well as the ceiling of the middle container of the back stack. For a while, where I am standing to take the picture, you could look down through three containers to the bottom floor.😱 I had to place the ladder inside the window seat to reach the ceiling of the top container, so when I stood on it to paint, at the furthest point, I was 18 feet up, above the bottom of the stairs!  Better pic of my insanity-- Looking up from the kitchen Looking down from the landing Window seat window Finally, a cozy spot! Thanks for joining me!!

Home tour pt 3

Hey everyone,  The home is currently on the market, but I wanted to post a couple more times to finish up the tour! My favorite area is our bedroom suite. I'm so thankful for the space we have as well as the nice sized bath and closet.  Here is what our bedroom looked like before it was a bedroom. We lived with the red and orange walls for several months.  We made slow but sure progress painting and trimming out while living in the house 🤯 Yes I did only paint a portion of the wall JUST so we could hang John's guitar. (It was like that for about 4 months.) (Side not on dates and amounts of time I reference, they are ALL approximate. I really have no idea how long that portion of the wall was painted before I finished it.) (Don't judge). Again, I fell in love with the cream and grey color scheme, I feel like it softens the metal, industrial feel of the house. We installed a sliding barn door going into the master closet, but used a regular interior door for the bath. I use

Kitchen Tour

Hey guys, sorry it's been forever!  I Love my Kitchen! Our awesome neighbor built our cabinets, and they are very simple, but SOLID like every single other thing this house is. I wanted to try a two tone look, with the cabinets stained, and the doors painted. I lived with them that way for about 2 years, but wasn't in love with the look.  I put shelf paper on the outside of the drawers.😍 The windows are not attached to the containers at all, except with spray foam sealer, they are attached to the framework for the siding. So we sealed the gaps in the container walls, and then attached the trim to the window framing. There are no screws attaching the trim to the containers. I lived without trim for several months.  Added the trim! We also used crates for open shelving. Later my mom helped me put up open shelving using privacy fencing and iron brackets.  The windows are so deep because the siding is build on the pole style framework around the house. Makes for great additional s
